Better to sleep on the street

The location

I can't list everything. The entrance area is full of chewed leather couches. The elevator is out of order. The bathroom is unusable, worse than a train station toilet. The mattress is full of cigarette burns. You don't get a blanket to cover, instead you have a sheet. When asking for a sheet, they didn't react. We got a different room, not what we booked. When I asked, the manager told me that no other rooms are available and I cannot expect much because the hotel is old. After the overnight stay, I got a fungus.

The hotel's location

I travelled to Istanbul for three days to get ready for a presentation. Sadly, there was no chair in my room. I requested a chair from the hotel manager to be able to sit and get my presentation ready, but the request was turned down. Instead, I was told to relocate to a loud common area, which was not conducive to concentrated work.

Consequently, because of the absence of necessary support and suitable working conditions, I missed the chance to adequately prepare the presentation.
