Exceptional 10

Cozy accommodation for music enthusiasts and food lovers

People who are complaining about the noise levels downstairs are being unreasonable - they failed to realize they booked a room in the CENTER of a bustling nightlife area, ABOVE an excellent bar*. You can't reserve such a spot and then complain about noise! As some mentioned, this spot is more suitable for night owls. I got exactly what I desired: an upper-level crash pad in the midst of the lively atmosphere of Taksim, just a few blocks from various techno music venues like Kastel, Sahika, Minimusikhol, and Frankhan Select. Techno music fans on a budget should consider booking here or close by! Additionally, you'll find fantastic three-piece bands performing EVERYWHERE once you step out in the evening.
Irish Hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Galata Tower, Bosporus ferries, Taksim Metro station, and Istiklal Avenue. Although I reserved a single room, they upgraded me to a double. Breakfast is served from 8-10 am, a traditional spread. There's an upright piano in the breakfast area. You might come across a better breakfast elsewhere but at a higher cost. I felt secure and welcomed as a solo queer female traveler.
[*James Joyce Irish Bar: the owner speaks fluent English and is willing to chat with you over a Guinness for an hour. The place even features a full stage with lighting at the rear for event bookings].
Don't panic if the hot water takes a while to heat up - simply wait a couple of minutes.

Good but be careful

The vibe is cool and gives you an old nostalgic feel
The security is low, better to keep your valuable stuff by yourself before keeping it inside the hotel

Wonderful 9

Excellent

The hotel is conveniently located, but not easy to find, as the entrance is from the side street. I liked the amenities and the staff, modest breakfast, but you won't be hungry. Many cafes nearby, within a few dozen meters is Istiklal Street. It was not noisy (or I was just tired after endless evening walks).
View from the window: the windows of the room faced the windows of the adjacent building. Fortunately, this was solved by closing the curtains.
