The view of the Galata tower was as shown in the advertised images.

There were frequent and disturbing communications from the host. The apartment's location, although close to the Galata Tower, was in a very questionable neighbourhood, which felt extremely unsafe. Upon arrival, there were several Turkish men hanging around the door, and renovation work was taking place in the lobby area, resulting in a messy environment with rubbish and boxes piled up outside.

We were informed after booking and about a week before check-in that the apartment was on the 5th Floor. The stairs were steep and difficult to climb, as there was no lift, despite what was stated in the advertisement.

Although the apartment offered a view of the Galata Tower, it was overall disappointing. One of the bedroom doors didn't close properly, and the shower over the bathtub was inconvenient due to the layout and height of the bath. The 'rooftop terrace' could only be accessed through even steeper stairs, was messy, and not usable.

I failed to update the booking for 3 people (it defaulted to 2 people). Within 20 minutes of arrival, I received multiple messages from the host, claiming to have been watching us on security cameras and demanding a cash payment of €100, or immediate check-out, which was not feasible after carrying our luggage to the 5th Floor and travelling to the other side of Istanbul.

I attempted to call the host, but she refused, stating she was unable to communicate over the phone.

The experience was completely awful, dangerous and frightening.

I stayed in the same neighbourhood, one street over a couple of weeks ago and it was nothing like this experience.

I highly recommend any prospective guests thinking of staying at this property or any other apartments managed by this host in this complex at Bereketzade Mahallesi Şair Ziya Paşa, Caddesi Dış Kapı no 11, to seriously reconsider staying elsewhere.

Excellent location in Galata, delightful apartment. We had a wonderful time!

The location was excellent, very close to the Galata Tower. The apartment is situated on a bustling side street surrounded by electrical suppliers and builders merchants, which might be noisy due to deliveries but it did not pose a problem once inside the property. A brief walk up the street will lead you to the main Galata road which was ideal.

Outstanding communication from the host, they provided helpful information before our arrival and stayed in contact in case we required any assistance.

The kitchen needs updating, especially the fridge. The stairs are something to consider before booking.
