The hotel is conveniently located next to the tram station, which was perfect for us as two guests had mobility issues.
The property is in need of renovation, and facilities need to be revamped. We booked a triple room and anticipated having a wardrobe and shelves for our clothes. We were taken aback to find only a wardrobe measuring barely 50 cm wide. As a result, we had to store most of our clothes in our suitcases. Furthermore, some hangers were broken. It's disappointing that the rooms lack soundproofing, as noise from neighbouring or upper floor rooms disrupted our sleep.
FernandoIstanbul is a wonderful city
The hotel is in a strategic location for those who like to walk around: the Grand Bazaar, a big mosque, university, and it's one kilometer from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, reachable on foot. The cleanliness is excellent and the breakfast buffet is varied. The staff was helpful and kind, especially Ahmet at the reception, who assisted us during our last few hours before departure.
The only downside I would point out is the lack of an Italian TV channel.
