The condition of the room did not meet the standard due to hygiene and maintenance deficiencies, which one would expect when booking a room

The location is not bad
The bathroom is in an insufficient hygienic condition. The joints and silicone seals in the shower area are heavily soiled or partially suspicious of mold. Several floor tiles are damaged or loose. In addition, the bedroom window overlooks a neglected courtyard with garbage and cigarette residues, leading to unpleasant odors. Overall, the condition of the room does not meet the standard in my opinion, considering the price paid

We reserved this room through Booking.com relying on the images provided in the listing. Upon arrival, we discovered it was actually a multi-storey building functioning as a small hotel. Initially, we were allocated a ground-floor room that was completely unacceptable. It was not suitable for anyone, particularly with a child.
The room bore no resemblance to the pictures on Booking.com. It featured wall cavities, dust accumulation, exceedingly worn-out furnishings, a musty and mouldy odour, corroded items, unwashed bed sheets, and the interior was uncomfortably cold. Additionally, there was a malfunctioning boiler in the living area that noisily activated every few minutes, despite the absence of radiators and no hot water being used.
Due to our young child, we promptly approached reception for the room we had reserved. We were informed that no other rooms were available until the following day. Upon insistence, we were relocated to an alternative ground-floor accommodation. The situation marginally improved as the disruptive boiler was resolved and some external ventilation alleviated the mould smell. Nonetheless, the bathroom remained mould-infested, notably the door, and the solitary window overlooked a wall mere 10 cm away, littered with debris.
The initial night was unbearably cold. Although there was hot water, spending over a minute in the mouldy bathroom seemed unhygienic and hazardous.
The subsequent day, we were finally provided with the room depicted on Booking.com. It was not exceptional, but it did have heating. However, this room exhibited widespread mould, water marks on the ceiling, and dilapidated furniture. The mattresses were the sole relatively new items. The duvets emitted a strong stale odour, suggestive of extended non-laundering.
The boiler was defective in this room too.
