This city hotel boasts warm and traditionnal Turkish hospitality with friendly staff, good quality and high standards. Enjoying an incredibly central location, it is only a few steps from the hub of Istanbul's greatest Byzantine and Ottoman historical treasures including Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace and the world famous Grand Bazaar.

The room.

The amenities, the pets and the cleaning in the total room are not charged.

I would recommend this hotel for a stay of 1-2 nights, but not much longer.

Fantastic staff, especially the girl at the reception, who was always ready to help and did her best to make our stay at the hotel as comfortable as possible. A big thank you to her for taking the time to assist us.

The location is also really convenient — close to the city centre, yet there was no street noise at all. The hotel has an elevator and provides bathroom amenities. And having watermelon for breakfast was a lovely bonus!

The hotel is quite outdated. The room door required a bit of effort to open, and the air conditioning worked very poorly. The bathroom furniture was damaged by water, and some of the cabinets were missing handles.

There is also no luggage storage room. Guests are simply asked to leave their belongings in the hotel's entrance hall, which doesn't feel particularly secure.

The hotel is located on a very narrow street where cars drive along the road, while the pavement is extremely narrow. There are also occasional basement entrances along the sidewalk, so you have to constantly watch your step while walking.

The breakfast was average — there wasn't much choice, and the food wasn't particularly tasty.

Accessibility for people with special needs is limited. The room doors are of a standard width and there is an elevator, but the ramp at the hotel entrance is very steep. It leads directly towards the flower planters and only part of the entrance door opens, making access difficult for wheelchair users.

A lovely stay with comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and a great overall experience.

We stayed in A'la Sofia Hotel Istanbul for 4 nights.

Location: The location was excellent, especially for sightseeing. It was convenient to reach major attractions, restaurants, shops. The Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern are in a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. Similarly, In 3 minutes walk you can reach to Tram station Cemberlitas (Tram 1) from where you can reach to other major attraction from there such as Karakoy. There were lots of restaurants, pharmacy, Show supermarket near by where you can buy your requirements.

Breakfast: The breakfast was good and it was buffet, with decent variety of options and fresh food although we would have appreciated a little more variety or some changes to the breakfast menu each day. It was nice way to start the day.

Check-in and check-out were quick and hassle-free, and we really appreciated the thoughtful gesture of offering us a couple of bottles of water before we left.
