Idyllic guesthouse with a delightful restaurant!

The lovely staff make you feel like part of the family at this guesthouse. We enjoyed engaging with other guests at mealtimes, creating lasting memories of the island. Each morning we savored a tasty and satisfying Turkish breakfast on the front terrace. Our spacious high-ceiling triple room was clean and comfortable (the firmer mattresses were much appreciated by my back!), offering partial views of the sea as a pleasant surprise. The guesthouse features indoor and outdoor common areas where you can immerse yourself in the house's history and understated grandeur, or unwind on a small balcony with expansive views of the sea and the Asian side of Istanbul.
The restaurant at the guesthouse is exceptional! It served some of the most delicious meals we had during our ten-day stay in Istanbul. The dishes felt like homemade meals cooked by a talented family member who also happened to be a fantastic chef. We regret not dining there for all our meals during our two-day visit.
You can explore the beautiful neighborhoods, rent bikes, or take buses to venture further out. We opted to walk around the entire island, covering about 12 km. The southern half is free of motorized traffic and less crowded (we happened to visit during the second busiest holiday of the year, making the north end quite crowded!). You can also ride a small bus (among many traversing most of the island) to the southernmost stop and then stroll around the bottom half (Google Maps offers useful transit schedules for planning). Along the way, you'll find occasional cafes or restaurants to take a break.
If you desire tranquility with easy access to the livelier part of town, this is the perfect place! We thank Özlem and İsmail for providing us with an unforgettable stay on Büyükada!
We wish we could have prolonged our stay.
