EmanoelHe achieved his goal of staying with his family for one night in a central location in Istanbul.
The service was outstanding; the kindness and courtesy shown during this stay were exceptional.
There was some quite annoying construction, but I assume it was a one-time occurrence.

This was my second stay at Hotel Basileus and found it just as good as last time. It is very well located in the old town close to the main attractions and with good local restaurants nearby. The hotel has recently undergone some renovation and has a new manager since my last stay. He was very friendly and helpful, suggesting good local places to eat and arranging an early taxi for me to the airport. The superior room was very adequate for my one-night stay and the hotel is very good value for money compared to other hotels in Istanbul.
Breakfast only starts at 0830, but the manager arranged for some packaged breakfast food to be available for me when I left to travel to the airport - an indication of the good service.
