Ideally situated in the heart of the old city within a few minutes' walk of the major attractions at Sultanahmet, this popular boutique-style hotel is built on the site of a wooden Turkish house. Decorated and furnished in an authentic style by the owner's wife, guests can enjoy breakfast on the roof terrace with spectacular views of the Marmara Sea and Blue Mosque or in the pretty courtyard enclosed by a Byzantine wall.

Convenient location, lovely new hotel

Great location, within walking distance to market, underground, attractions, bars, eateries, etc. Staff are excellent, Jan at the reception is a valuable asset, welcoming, willing to assist, and provides good suggestions. A big thank you to the breakfast staff for a delightful breakfast. The room was cosy and well-equipped with all necessary amenities.

I selected this hotel because it advertised a balcony and a rooftop terrace with views. Unfortunately, neither were available during our stay, which was disappointing as it was a key factor in my selection of a hotel in Istanbul. If this was known beforehand, I wouldn't have booked. The rooftop was under maintenance, and the balconies were not usable, primarily serving as spaces for AC units - nothing more. The hotel should not promote or charge extra for facilities that guests cannot utilise.

Additionally, not the hotel's fault, but worth noting that we were persistently approached by nearby restaurants whenever we walked to or from the hotel. This was not something we had encountered extensively on other streets in Istanbul. Though harmless, it did become bothersome over time.

The location

Ongoing work on the terrace that should have been indicated (impossible to have breakfast outside), deficiencies in the room, faulty fridge, torn curtains etc. We arrived very late at the airport and had booked a transfer from the airport through the hotel that never came... we had to manage on our own (no response from the driver!!) and this in the middle of the night...

Would not recommend, but location is great.

One of the staff was rude all the times I interacted with them & refused to give me a bill at check out. Construction all around the hotel and in the hotel so very noisy and no one cleaned my room while I was there. We had multiple rooms and one of the other rooms was cleaned daily so not sure what their rhyme or reason is. The rudeness of the staff was however the only reason I would not recommend. Breakfast staff and everyone else was great.
