Pleasant

The location is very good, in a neighborhood full of shops and restaurants and close to Galata Tower. Also well served by public transport, even though there is a steep climb on foot.

No one greeted us when we entered, even though we always greeted. There is no correspondence between the photos on Booking and the actual hotel, which is much more neglected, worn, and at times dirty (especially humidity on the ceilings and in the bathrooms). The rooftop was closed for renovations, so breakfast was served in a room on the first floor. The breakfast was decent but not excellent; for a toast (with ingredients that were already available during breakfast) they asked for an extra charge. We booked two suites, including a king suite with a whirlpool bath, but the tub was older than the photos and the view was not as spectacular as it seemed because the surrounding area and other buildings are neglected. The shower water ran cold for a quarter of an hour before heating up, and there was no lock on the bathroom door. In the king suite, half of the room could not be illuminated except with the lamp (only one) on the bedside table.
