Lack of safety, clearly

The breakfast, the location

I would like to report a very concerning incident that occurred last night.

At around 11:30 p.m., while I was asleep in the women's dormitory, a man entered the room and approached my bed. He started knocking directly on my bed to wake me up. I was asleep in my underwear. After several knocks, I eventually woke up.

He asked if he could speak to me for a minute and then insisted that I follow him. I refused and asked him to speak to me right there in the dormitory instead.

The man was a member of the hostel staff. He wanted to know whether I had paid for my stay because he could not remember. Waking me up at 11:30 p.m., the night before my departure, over an administrative question is completely unacceptable.

However, I clearly remember paying. In fact, I remember it very well because the check-in process was particularly chaotic. He spent several minutes trying to find 30 Turkish lira in change for me, answered the phone several times while asking me to wait "one minute," then "three minutes," then "five minutes." In the end, I was late because he could not find the keys to my room. Finally, one of his colleagues stepped in and handed him the keys, which had been right in front of him the whole time.
