Big disappointment

Much worse than the photos and reviews suggest, below standard:

- the staircase is steep (no lift)

- the room had a damaged floor and walls

- we found hairs on the bed sheets

- the bathroom was not cleaned properly, dirty, and smelly

- the towels were old and uncomfortable to use

- there were not enough clean plates during breakfast

- I booked the room for 8 nights but only stayed one night due to all of the above

- I raised the issues with the hotel, and their response was:

“Dear Partner,

In relation to this booking, we would like to clarify that the guest requested a cancellation before completing the check-in process. The room had been prepared and reserved as per the booking; however, the guest decided not to stay at the property.

The guest did not take up the room and, critically, did not even inspect the room before making the allegations. Therefore, the claims about unacceptable conditions or the room not matching the description are not based on an actual stay or experience of the room.

We also understand that the guest’s companions had made a booking at another hotel, and the guest wished to move to that location. Consequently, we believe that the complaint was made solely to support a request for a free cancellation/refund.

Please be advised that our management did not officially approve a refund. The booking was active, the room was assigned, and the guest's decision not to stay was entirely their own.

For these reasons, we are unable to accept the request for cancellation/refund and kindly ask you to dismiss this claim.
