Terrible stay!

Parking available in front of the hotel

I was not expecting to sleep in a 5-star hotel for this price, however, this turned out to be more like a 1-star hotel.

At reception, the person who checked me in didn't know any English. I had booked the hotel for €31.00 but he refused to accept a €1.00 coin and insisted on payment in Turkish Lira, which I declined. Upon checking my booking before arrival, I noticed that the price had decreased to €28.00, which seemed strange.

Even more concerning was that the receptionist took a photo of my passport with his personal phone instead of entering my details into the PC system in front of him. Why?

I was assigned room 306 on the third floor with no elevator, so I had to carry three heavy suitcases by myself without any assistance, despite being willing to tip for help. The room key had a wifi password with username 'room 306', but there was no room 306 listed on the doors. Only rooms 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 307, 308! I tried calling the reception but the phone was not working, so I had to walk down to the reception. The receptionist explained that there was an issue with the Internet in that room. I requested to be moved as I had just travelled 9 hours from Istanbul and urgently needed to check my work email, but he refused to change my room. I had to leave the hotel and go to a restaurant 5 kilometres away to access wifi and attend to my work matters.

The room itself was clean (kudos to housekeeping), however, it had a cigarette and humidity smell, visible on the walls.

The breakfast experience was another disaster. Served from 7 to 10, I arrived at 'the restaurant' at 9:00 and wished I had skipped breakfast and slept until 10:00, then eaten across the street. There was nothing left on the buffet, not even bread, which I had to request. There were no signs of eggs or any meat products like salami!
